The Gorge

A Capture The Flag map
Copywritten 2002.
Final release May 2002

THANK YOU TO THE SURFACE TENSION TEAM (BTW, the one of the coolest support boards for mappers out there at http://dynamic3.gamespy.com/~st/forum/) - NAPALM, SUPERDUDE, BUNN, FRYGUY, LUNATIC, AND ALL THE REST OF YOU.  THIS LEVEL WOULD HAVE BEEN LESSER WITHOUT YOUR INPUT. ADDITIONAL THANKS GOES TO CLAN [WTF?] - SPECIFICALLY SNOWDOG, FOR THE USE OF THE GRENADEPAK MODEL. WITHOUT THAT, THIS LEVEL WOULD NEVER HAVE COME TO BE. (Well, at least it would not have had those stylish grenade packs) J .

Yes this is CTF, but with a few twists:

-Created using the Gunman Chronicles texture set.
-Central flag room accessible to both teams.
-Alarm system triggered when flag stolen

You can go here for an overview of the level.

Some other miscelaneous information/facts concerning:

- USE HARDWARE RENDERING IF YOU CAN! R_speeds will be an issue for some (see below). I am aware of them. I left them as-is on purpose and simply ask that you keep an open mind. They're not all that evil. My purpose here was not to create a speedy level, per se, but to see what I could in fact create. I'm always trying to explore the reaches of my imagination. R_speeds limit that. I have the skills to create a r_speeds-friendly level, but I chose not to for this one. I am not specifically concerned with whether this level will play over the internet, nor whether "Joe" can play it on his Emachine computer J . Of course, having this level work well with most or all people’s computers and easily playable over any internet connection would be awesome. I do believe it to be playable on a decent computer with a good internet connection (non-dialup). Anyone with a voodoo3 card or better and a 500 Mhz processor should have no trouble at all playing this level on a LAN or over the internet.
