Oldwest by [DWD]Ace **** This map designed for the TeamFortress Classic Half-Life mod **** July 31, 2000 ================================================================ Title : Oldwest Filename : oldwest.zip (oldwest.bsp, oldwest.txt) Author : [DWD]Ace Email Address : cityfish@acronet.net Homepage : http://www.clandwd.net/ Description : Team Fortress Classic Capture the Flag Number of Teams : 2 Recommended # of Players: 12-20 ================================================================ INSTALL INFORMATION: oldwest.bsp, oldwest.txt and oldwest_info.txt go in Half-life/tfc/maps/ ================================================================ PLAY INFORMATION: Each team starts out in their own little town with some diff. buildings that were used back in western days. You must goto the other teams town and get their flag resting in the top floor of the bank. There is a train that starts off in the middle of the map and can be used and goes around in a complete circle around whole map. Also, there are some mine tunnels, but they were closed off to keep people out as the tunnels were unsafe. Once you have the flag, you must go back to your base and drop into the well to capture it. But once in the well, you might find it hard to get out as you are now in the mines. You should find a way out in no time though. ================================================================ OTHER PROJECTS FROM ME: My first released map was x_files for tfc which i'm sorry i ever released. It had many probs and i never should have released it. It has bad speeds, no lighting done and some walls aren't colored right. My 2nd release was a little better. It was a conversion of the same map for Halflife: opposing force multiplayer deathmatch. The speeds were fixed and added some things. Little slow down here and there, but not like x_files. I made a football map where you get 3 points for jumping through field goal and 7 for reaching touchdown while your teammate demomen only help you against the other teams demomen. Only one ball and ball carriers are the red and blue scouts only. But then i seen a map similar is already out called pigskin so i dropped the project which was almost complete. I'm working on a totally new map almost done for the mod called Science and Industry with the mod makers for a future release of the mod. It's called si_ace for now. No name yet. Then i made a good DW map called dwd_arena2 which it out and it had 11 arenas. One was a flag room that had it in hard to get spot and helped out practicing concing and rocketing and that. Version 1 was never released, it was just for my clan and some people downloaded it when we were testing it and to avoid errors of people saying their version differs from servers, i just named it 2. And then came the first version of this map deathbowl. I was asked to make this map by my clan and so have made it and it only took under a day. It had a 3rd team in the stands. Then i made a version 2 which was also requested to just have 2 teams. It just took away team 3 and let red and blue's guys warp up to stands to watch and warp back to goto the arena. And then i made this map. Remade 3 times to fix lag and other problems. ================================================================ FUTURE PROJECTS: I'm working on a WWF map right now which consists of the ring, with ropes that bounce you off, and the announcer's table area with breakable tables when jumped on. You can go up the ramp also and see the titan tron and go backstage and fight in other places. About 30-50% complete. And also a desert map like nml (No Mans Land series) called pushfort. Your respawn rooms have tunnels that shoot you to diff. parts of your teams fort. There are war type things everywhere. So far, i only have blue's supple room and flag room done. About only 5-10%. Planning to have a downed helpcopter with working gun in front of each base. Also starting a single player mission for HL which is similar to Metal Gear Solid for the Playstation and Rainbow Six where you must sneak around most of the time. You don't have any weapons at start and i might leave them out so people watch where their going and slow down to notice enemy walk patterns. I think it will be great when done. No idea how many levels it will have or how much % it is complete. Also to [DWD]Vader for making the custom wad used in making the map (wad was added right into the bsp to make things easier for others) and because he came up with almost all the ideas for the map, i just built it. It didn't turn out how he wanted it to from the start as he had another guy named Cpt.
